Start from the hamlet of Vixouze.
Take the path towards Château de Vixouze. The track descends, offering fine views of the village of Polminhac and its imposing Château de Pesteils, as well as the Monts du Cantal.
At the track junction, turn left. The path climbs slightly and leads to a new intersection (PR La Ronde des Châteaux, marked in yellow); turn left again, still climbing. A little further up, you can go back and forth to an old volcanic stone quarry, where you can admire some magnificent prisms.
The path continues on a flat surface, ending on a meadow path before returning to the starting point.
